It also indicates what you should do the day before and on the day of the Thanksgiving celebration.

    Thanksgiving Guest List

Once you’ve set your budget and know how many people you can entertain for the Thanksgiving dinner celebration, you can start sending out invitations.

Use your Thanksgiving guest list to prepare a list of the people you wish to invite and to note who has confirmed they will be attending.

To share the workload on the run-up to Thanksgiving, allow your guests to help with the food preparations. Note the dishes each guest will be preparing and whether they have any special dietary requirements on your Thanksgiving guest list.

    Thanksgiving Menu Planner

    Thanksgiving Shopping List Template

Shopping on the run-up to Thanksgiving can be a frantic experience! Packed shop aisles, long queues, and in some cases shortage of essential items for the Thanksgiving celebrations. Avoid the mad rush by doing your shopping well in advance.

To ensure that you capture everything you need, do the following before you prepare your Thanksgiving shopping list:

    • Taking into account the number of guests you will be entertaining, check whether you need any additional dinnerware, glassware, linens, table accessories, and any other decorations for the Thanksgiving celebrations.
    • Check whether you need any additional serving dishes or cooking utensils for the dishes you will be preparing.
    • Review your recipes and make a note of the ingredients you’ll need. Remember to check your pantry so you don’t buy things you already have.
    • Check whether you have sufficient plastic wrap, foil, food bags, paper products, and takeaway boxes so your guests can take any leftover food.

Once you’ve decided what you need to buy, prepare two shopping lists, one for non-perishable items and another for perishable items. Make sure you shop for non-perishable items ahead of time. Perishable items can be bought a few days before Thanksgiving.

    Thanksgiving Cooking Schedule

Thanksgiving is one of the biggest food celebrations of the year. So if you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year, proper planning of your meal preparation is essential.

To avoid becoming stressed and overwhelmed with food preparations, start well in advance!

Prepare items such as bread rolls, cranberry sauce, turkey stock, and turkey gravy around 2-4 weeks in advance. These items can be stored in the freezer. Pies, casseroles, mashed potatoes, and other side dishes may be prepared closer to the time.

Download your Thanksgiving cooking schedule and use it to plan your Thanksgiving meal preparation. Aim to spread out the cooking load so you can easily fit it into your normal daily schedule.

    Thanksgiving Day Cooking Schedule

On the day of Thanksgiving, timing is crucial. All of the dishes on your menu should be prepared and ready to be served at the set time. Some dishes are best served warm, others chilled, so you must get the final preparations right to ensure that everything goes to plan.

Use your Thanksgiving day cooking schedule to plan the final dinner preparations to make sure that your Thanksgiving dinner is a success!

When preparing your schedule, start from the time you plan to serve dinner and work back. Remember to include an hour to allow the turkey to rest before carving. Whilst the turkey is resting, the oven will be available to heat side dishes.

Warm the bread rolls last, they don’t need much heating time and if you leave them in the oven too long they’ll become too hard.

    BOTTOM LINE

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so now is the perfect time to start planning your holiday celebrations.
